About Jávea

A delightful family-friendly resort on Spain's eastern coast

Jávea (Xàbia) is a delightful family-friendly resort on Spain's eastern Costa Blanca coast, which offers sunshine and a warm climate all year round. With approximately 300 days of sunshine each year, it consistently ranks as having one of the healthiest climates in the world.

The town has three distinct areas, each with its own character — and all easily reachable by car or taxi from Villa Olivo.

The Arenal

The Arenal is Jávea's main beach area. This fantastic sandy beach is away from the main road, offering Blue Flag standard water and a long promenade with access to shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, and ice-cream parlours.

The beach itself has wheelchair access via a special beach wheelchair available seasonally, and there are disabled changing facilities during peak season.

Volleyball courts and a children's play area make it ideal for families. Taxis from the villa to The Arenal typically cost around €8.

The Port

Jávea's working fishing harbour operates year-round. Fresh fish is available daily directly from the boats, and the waterfront restaurants serve excellent seafood while you watch the boats and yachts coming and going.

The port area has a relaxed, authentic feel — a contrast to the more touristy Arenal.

The Old Town

Jávea's historic old town presents a delightful array of shops, bars, and cafes within striking historic architecture. Note that the old town does feature some cobblestones and hills — manageable for most wheelchair users but worth bearing in mind.
